Things to consider when translating Hindi to English
Hindi is one of the world's most widely spoken languages. Some
estimates, put the total number of native speakers at about 500
million and the total number of people who understand the language
may be as high as 800 million.
Hindi is the national language of India and is spoken by almost
half a billion people in India and throughout the world and is the
world's second most spoken language. It allows you to communicate
with a far wider variety of people in India than English which is
only spoken by around five percent of the population. It is written
in an easy to learn phonetic script called Devanagari which is also
used to write Sanskrit, Marathi and Nepali.
Allow for text expansion in your Hindi Translation
Text typically expands or contracts when translating one
language to another. English to Hindi translation typically expands
by about 15%. And Hindi to English translation, as you would
expect, contracts by about 15%. This obviously depends on the
subject matter.
